Warriors drop match to Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Winona State College volleyball staff dropped their closing match of the NSIC opening weekend to the College of Sioux Falls, 0-3.

The Warriors had been unable to seize a set of the Cougars as USF gained the match with scores of 25-17, 25-13, and 25-16. WSU drops to 4-5 general and 0-2 within the NSIC, whereas Sioux Falls strikes to 6-3 general and 2-0 within the younger NSIC season.

Winona State was held to a .105 hitting proportion on the day, whereas Sioux Falls linked on 46 kills out of 104 makes an attempt and hit .356.

The primary set was neck-and-neck till the halfway level when USF rattled off 13 of the final 17 factors to win the opening set 25-17. The Warriors fell behind early within the second set because the Cougars knocked down 18 kills on 33 makes an attempt to manage the second set with a 25-13 victory. Sioux Falls gained the ultimate set 25-16 at hand Winona State their second-consecutive loss.

Sidney Paulson and Madison Larson led the way in which for WSU with 9 and 7 kills, respectfully. Rayliene Joens and Taylor Pagel added six and 5 kills to the Warrior effort.

Jaci Winchell dished out 22 assists and added eight digs. Casey Volkmann collected 11 digs to tempo Winona State.

The Warriors shall be in motion subsequent weekend, once they host #24 Augustana and #5 Wayne State on Sept. 16 and 17 for the WSU house opener at McCown Gymnasium, house of WNB Monetary Court docket.
